Ask The Right Questions If You Are To Find The Right Answers

Actually, you can ask us anything about life, work and study in China.

1
What kind of company would I be placed in?

Mandarin Café has about 400 business partners in China (Chinese and foreign-owned companies) in many different fields. While matching we always consider candidate’s educational and professional background.

2
Are the internships paid?

There is only one visa in China that allows you receive a salary – it’s a work visa (with further working permit) and this visa requires a full time employment contract with your employer. “Payment” provided by many (not all) host companies is a small allowance, usually it’s a few thousand RMB and can help the intern cover transportation and perhaps daily meals during the internship.

3
How much would I pay for accommodation?

Accommodation pricing in Beijing and Shanghai depends on your life style and expectations. You can live in shared house or share an apartment with other interns for 2000-3000 RMB per month or rent a single studio and pay twice as much. Nowadays because of Airbnb service it’s possible to do even without Mandarin language skills.

4
Can I extend my Student visa if I wanted to stay longer?

Usually it’s possible if you notify your school ahead of time (one month ahead) that you would like to extend your program. In that case your contract with the language school must be renewed and you have to pay the new semester fee. After that your Student Visa could be extended. Sometimes you may have to leave out of the country to extend it.

5
Can I get recommendation from the company after my program?

Yes, after successful internship completion you can get a recommendation from your placement company.

6
Will companies pay for my ticket?

The fees for visas, flights, medical insurance and all study materials are not included in any program cost. These items have to be purchased separately. Clients are responsible for their own insurance costs and responsibilities upon landing in China.

7
Can I have a full time job after the internship?

Nowadays, many Chinese companies have doubts about hiring international young people as full-time workers. They firstly prefer to try your skills, so an internship is not only a way for you to gain international working experience, but also a probation period. According to our inner stats more than 70% of our students receive a job offer from their host companies after successful completion of their internship.

8
Will Mandarin Cafe assist me during my 3 months internship?

Yes, our support team is available around the clock to provide solutions for absolutely everything you need.
